Belmont Baptist Church is a NSW/ACT Affiliated Baptist Church. That being said, we have people from all different walks of life and different denominational backgrounds – including our Lead Pastor!
12One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”…23 but we preach Christ crucified.”

You can also read about our Core Values as a Church. They shape who we are as a people
Christ-Centered
Christ as the head of the church and the source of everything we are, say and do, all for His glory.
Eph 1:22 – 23 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church which is his body. the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Col: 1:18 – 20 And he is the head of the body, the church, he is the beginning and the first born from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
1John 1:7 …if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Biblically Grounded
We believe the Bible is God’s truth, therefore, we study and apply it to our lives.
2 Tim 3: 16 – 17 All scripture in God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Ps 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
1Thes 2:13 …when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.
Inclusive
We value the inclusion of all people through warm fellowship, caring relationships and love.
Eph 2:19 …. you are no longer foreigners or aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.
Phil 2:2 – 4 ….make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not to your own interests but to the interests of others.
Acts 4:32 All believers were one in heart and mind.
Eph 4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Discipleship
We encourage a culture where people grow up in Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit to serve and follow Him.
Eph 4:15 – 16 ….speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the head, that is Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, each part does its work.
Evangelism
We commit to sharing the gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit with our community and the world.
Matt 28:17 – 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…”
Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
Service-minded
We encourage all to use their spiritual gifts and be committed to service that extends the kingdom of God.
1 Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Cor 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Prayerful
We affirm that individual and corporate prayer underpins everything we do.
Matt 6:9 – 13 “This is how you should pray….”
Eph 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
